The three Medicare lead types
T65 (Turning 65)
Consumers approaching their 65th birthday enter a seven-month Initial Enrollment Period. Roughly 10,000 Americans turn 65 every day. T65 leads are the most valuable Medicare data because the consumer must make a decision and has no existing plan loyalty.
O65 (Over 65)
Already-enrolled beneficiaries who requested information about Medicare Advantage, Supplement, or Part D options. These convert during AEP, during the Medicare Advantage OEP (January 1 through March 31), and year-round for Medigap and for consumers with Special Enrollment Period triggers such as a move or loss of coverage.
Aged Medicare
Leads 30 to 180+ days old at $0.08 to $0.40. The consumer shopped once. Plans, premiums, and their own health have likely changed since. Aged Medicare data is the cheapest way to keep a Medicare floor dialing between enrollment peaks.
A month-by-month rhythm
- January to March: MA OEP. Work O65 leads who enrolled in a plan they do not love.
- April to September: T65 pipeline building. Buy fresh T65 and 30 to 90 day aged data. Write Medigap and SEP cases.
- October to December: AEP. Fresh O65 and T65 at full volume. Speed-to-lead is everything.
